Calgary Cannabis Producers at Bridlewood Cannabis
Wondering who grows local legal bud in the Calgary area? You’ve come to the right place. Bridlewood Cannabis is all about supporting local growers. You can easily find local producers on our menu by looking for the (Local) indication next to the producer on our live menu.
Here’s an example of our Indica Flower menu, Ogen Early Glue and Gas Berries #112 are both listed with a (Local) indication:
Early Glue by Ogen

Boaz Cannabis is a medical and rec craft cannabis producer located in the Calgary area. What is craft Cannabis? To Boaz it’s not just a buzz word.
Their cannabis is grown by hand, cultivated without the use of chemical fertilizer or pesticides, hand trimmed and hung dried to increase terpene quality and intensity, and cured to accentuate terpene aroma and taste. These guys don’t mess around and it shows.
Boaz Cannabis products come in dried flower 3.5g and pre-rolls. Their flower is certainly categorized in our premium pricing tier but they have the quality to back it up. Two of Boaz’s strains that we frequently bring in are Platinum Gelato and their new to the market cultivar, Mandarin Cookies. It has this deliciously sweet orange aroma. Supporting local has never been more fun.
We have a soft spot for Boaz Cannabis’ bud but their pre-rolls are where they really shine. Their Ultimate pre-rolls fly off the shelves and their Platinum, Mandarin Cookies, and Crescendo are not far behind. If you want to try what Boaz Cannabis has to offer, a 3 pack of 0.5 pre-rolls is the perfect place to start.
Ogen Cannabis is a small-batch, premium craft cannabis producer also known as Bloom Cultivation. Ogen is pronounced “Oh-gin”.
Ogen puts their heart and soul into each and every bud and it shows. If you’re interested in growing yourself what better place to learn than from the industry leaders – Ogen has a blog on their website that presents topics from Drying and Curing, to Phenohunting, to Lighting, and even some advice on people trying to get into the cannabis industry.
We have been impressed with each of Ogen’s three strains. Lemon Z (Sativa), Gas Berries #112 (Indica), and their newest strain Early Glue (Indica). Check out Danny’s review of Gas Berries #112 in the “What We’re Smoking” section of our Oct. 14th Newsletter.
Ogen is one of those producers that clearly is obsessed with finding the best genetics. We can’t wait to see what they have brewing for their next strain releases. We know it’s going to be good!
Ogen and Boaz are both in the premium craft cannabis category but Poolboy brings something different to the table and you can see it right away from their unique colourful branding. Poolboy certainly knows how to make a splash. Poolboy is the first legal rec brand from 314 Pure Craft Cannabis. This is the word for word description on the Alberta Government Cannabis website:
“Poolboy No, he’s a Pool KING and he’s here to rule your world, baby.
King T is all kinds of suave and cool. This sativa dominant strain, also known as Tutankhamon, has powers only a true ruler could possess and knows exactly how he wants his kingdom to react to him. Of course, his name pays homage to one of Egypt’s most mighty Pharaoh’s and his strain is just as mighty as the name. As a descendent of AK-47, he is extremely rare and works to create a cerebral effect in all those who come across his power of a near 20% THC level. King T has the abilities to make you feel very social, energized and creative.
He wants a world where everyone feels good and gets along and because of this, he’s ideal to bring out for your daytime activities, exercise, or social events. He can cause red eyes and dry mouth but nothing some modern day eye drops and a sweet cocktail can’t fix. All hail the King.
What might a King smell like? Why only the finest citrus and earthy aroma and flavour profile with a sour, skunky touch. Tutankhamun gains this aroma through his 60 day flowering cycle where he produces an abundant amount of cottony, crystal coated buds with lots of trichomes.”
Cannabis should be fun and these guys get it. As soon as we read this description we were excited to bring in their product. But branding isn’t everything, and we were hopeful that their product would back it up, and it DOES! Soon after trying their product we found out it was grown just north of Aidrie and we were sold. Fun branding, great product, and local? The perfect Douglasdale Cannabis producer!
Back to the product quickly. It’s exactly what you’d expect from their brand. Hard hitting party strains Bruce and King T are both sold in 3.5g flower and pre-rolls. Their pre-rolls come in a colourful 5 pack of 0.35g joints. This isn’t the craft cannabis we were talking about earlier but good pot doesn’t have to be craft and the price point reflects this. Poolboy Cannabis hit the ground running with what a lot of the bigger guys are still struggling to figure out- it’s a well priced, excellent brand, that can only keep getting better as they continue to experiment with their processes. We’re excited to see what these guys have coming in the future.
